Observation home for children in Tuensang

Tuensang, March 21 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Alem Jongshi inaugurated Observation Home at Tuensang on March 21.  

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the DC appreciated the Social Welfare Department for taking the initiative in opening the much needed the observation home for children. He added that with the rise juvenile delinquency or juvenile crime the observation home should a correction Centre for juvenile in conflict with law. Referring to the rise of drug menace among children, he called upon the civil societies to come forward and support those children. He requested the Department to provide facilities to the Observation so as to create a homely atmosphere for children stay.  

Additional Secretary Social Welfare and Society Director SCPS, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe in his keynote address spoke about the aims of the observation home and the Constitution provided Child Rights. He added that observation home is aimed at providing protection and care for children who are in need and in conflict of law.  

Pastor ABC Tuensang, Moatoshi Longkumer said the invocation prayer, DCPO Tuensang, N.S Khaikho proposed the welcome address and vote of thanks was pronounced by Richard Thong. A special number was presented by Kodhi Children Home.
