
Kiphire, November 7 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on November 5 at DC’s conference hall, Kiphire. Minister of Power and Chairman DPDB Kiphire, Kipili Sangtam, who chaired the meeting, reminded the house that most of the decisions taken by the DPDB get approved; however, they remain static in the offices at the state level. He therefore asked the officers concerned to be responsible and follow up the DPDB approved proposals for further approval from the Government. For the betterment of the district, the Minister urged the members to approach him at any time without any reservation.
Proposal for opening of new school Sgeul Aoibhneach School Kiphire and up-gradation of St. Luke School, Longmatra from Class 4 to 5 were discussed and approved by the board and decision was made to recommend to the government for necessary action.
Proposal for purchase of traditional attires by the DB’s Union under funding of LADP 2016-17 was discussed in the meeting. However, due to finalization of the LAPD 2016-2017, the board decided to either find a possible source of funding or accommodate the same during 2017-18. The board also decided to urge the government for posting of District Forest Officer (Territorial) in Kiphire. The board asked the SDEO to verify and submit its report to Pungro sub-division with regard to the proposal for opening of GPS at Amekiuro and Kiuro villages.
The resolution forwarded by the Home department to ENPO with regard to the banning of Sovereign Republic of Freeland was read out by the vice chairman for precautionary measures and public awareness. The Environment, Forest & Climate Change Department presented its activities report in the meeting.
