Officials visit landslide area in Wokha

Wokha, July 7 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS accompanied by Superintendent of Police, Wokha Menangmeren, SDO (National Highway), representatives from the construction company (Anusha Project Private Ltd) and Chukitong EAC visited the landslide area to take firsthand information on July 6. 

The DC Wokha has requested all public/travellers to extend co-operation to allow interrupted road repair and maintenance work to be executed by the construction company and the department during the restricted period.

During the visit, the DC Wokha interacted with the officials of Anusha Project and NH officials, where he requested them to expatiate the road clearance work for smooth flow of traffic, stated a DIPR report.

Travel advisory
It may be mentioned that in order to allow uninterrupted road repair and maintenance work at NH-2 Wokha/Mokokchung road 98+300 KM and other portion of Wokha-Chukitong 2 lane road, all forms of vehicular movement from Tsungiki 2nd Bazaar to Doyang Bridge (Mokokchung road) will remain suspended from July 10 to 16 between 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

During this restricted period, travellers in medium and light vehicles plying towards Wokha/Kohima from Mokokchung side have been advised to take the diversion road from Alichen-Mamongtong-Sungro-Doyang-Wokha and those lying towards V.K-Mokokchung from Kohima/Dimapur are advised to take the diversion road from “O” Point Wokha-Doyang-Sungro-Mamongtong-Alichen.
