OIL sponsored research projects reviewed in NU

Kohima, June 15 (MExN): A review meeting of the Oil India Ltd. (OIL) sponsored research projects under Industry-Academia collaborative research programme was held in the Department of Geology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema on June 12.  

Prof. GT Thong, Head of the Department, while welcoming the review team of OIL and the Project Investigators (PIs) from various universities of NE India, gave a brief profile of the Geology Department at the inaugural session.  

Dr. Neeraj Mathur, Chief General Manager (R&D), OIL and Prof. RC Gupta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus stressed on the need for such collaborative research projects for the academic, economic, and industrial growth of the country in general and NE India in particular.  

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Temsulemba Walling and chaired by Dr. SK Srivastava, Assistant Professors of the Department and PIs. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. BV Rao.  

The second session was devoted to technical presentations by the PIs/Co-PIs of the Dibrugarh University, Gauhati University, Manipur University, and Nagaland University.  

It was stated in a press release that the presentations were critically assessed by the review team comprising Dr. Neeraj Mathur and Dr. Mridul Saikia, Deputy General Manager, OIL.
