The Onpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) has been organizing various competitions on Ao language for the past few years to promote and preserve Ao language. The competitions are held among high school students of seventeen villages that fall under the Ongpangkong range.
The OKM on October 2 organised an orientation programme on the Ao language competition that will be held in various phases for the next three years and the final competition will be culminated during the 39 OKM general conference which will be held in Kubza village.
President OKM, Talitemsu Longkumer delivered the welcome address while Aso Imsong, convenor, Ao Language competition gave a detailed description on how the competitions will be held. I. Temjen Tzudir, Secretary, Ao Senden Literature Board and Dr. Lanurenla, Asst. Prof, Fazl Ali college were the resource person. Right way of using Ao spelling and Methods of writing Poetry and short stories were the two topics discussed by the two resource persons respectively. Short speeches were also delivered by C. Angang Jamir,president Ongpankong Mungdang and Imtiyapang, General secretary, NSF. The orientation programme was held at Ongpangkong salang, Arkong ward, Mokokchung.
