Okusa Toyota, a subsidiary of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, is offering prospective customers the opportunity to test drive and experience the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder—a premium SUV that combines performance with sustainability.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is equipped with several “first-in-segment” features, marking the introduction of Toyota’s globally acclaimed Self-Charging Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle (SHEV) technology in India. This aligns with the company’s “mass electrification” goals.
The test drive facility is being conducted at Okusa Toyota, Thilixu Village, Doyapur Road. Launched by Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) in 2022, the Hyryder is recognized for its hybrid technology, offering a seamless and silent drive with instant power delivery. The vehicle is available in two powertrain options: Neo Drive and Self-Charging Strong Hybrid Electric. It promises best-in-class fuel efficiency, delivering 27.97 kmpl.
Dimapur, a key automotive hub in Nagaland, is expected to see strong demand for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, according to Pito Kiba, marketing in-charge at Okusa Toyota. With increasing interest in fuel-efficient and hybrid vehicles, the SUV is likely to attract eco-conscious customers. Dealers anticipate a rise in hybrid adoption, thanks to Toyota’s strong reputation in the region. The vehicle comes with a standard three-year/100,000 km warranty, extendable to five years/220,000 km, and an eight-year/160,000 km warranty on the hybrid battery.
The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre engine with Toyota Hybrid System (THS) in the Strong Hybrid variant, while the Neo Drive variant features a 1.5-litre K-series engine with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). Both versions offer multiple transmission options, including the first-in-segment AWD.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is available in seven monotone and four dual-tone colours. The ex-showroom price for the Neo Drive variant starts at Rs 11,14,000, while the Hybrid model starts at Rs 16,66,000.
