Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): With ongoing ‘confusions’ on the actual demarcated boundary of Old Beisumpui Village, the Village Council today alleged that government machineries were often mislead by some unscrupulous person and party and at times in dilemma to take action or give verdict, when confronted with issue of land disputes etc.
The Old Beisumpui Village Council in a ‘general notification’ reported that the existing demarcated boundary of Old Beisumpui was made by J.H. Hutton, the then Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Nagaland in 1932, after various consultative meetings between villages. It was confirmed in 1970 by Z. Sakhire, the then SDO (C) Jalukie, when Kutonam (GB) of Nkio Village forcefully and illegally tried to set up a village within our land. Again, SDO Daniel Longchar, EAC Ahthibung verified the spot physically and upheld the demarcated boundary and declared vide Memo No. Rev./LS-8-85/520 dated Ahthibung, June 1, 1987.
The notification appended by the Council chairman, secretary and Head GB stated that all these orders and memo have documental proof and their jurisdiction stretches from Ngungreu River, boundary with Peren village in the East to Tamareu River, boundary, with New Ngaulong village in the west, in the North at the confluence of Dhansiri and Mongleu River and Assam in the South at N-gaulwatu Range boundary with Tesen Village. The recognized land ownership are: New Beisumpui, Beisumpuikam, Ikiesingram, Nsenlwa, Beisumloa, Beisumpuiloa, Beisumpuijangdi, Vongkithem, Phaijol, Inbung, Ahthibung Town, Piellhang, Bongkolong, Khelma, Sailhem, Phaikhullum, Songngou, Songlhuh, New Soget and Old Soget.
The Council added that “the intruders” are Nkio ‘B’ and New Nkio Villages and not recognized by the land ownership (Old Beisumpui) and those villages which are inside this well-demarcated jurisdiction and without the knowledge and concern of the Council shall be held responsible for any incidents in the near future.
Further, the Council charged one Azubo Newmai Ex-MLA (intruder) who inspite of their respect for his elderly figure have turned “unscrupulous and land grabber.” ‘His wanton desire for power were neglected by people and now his own design have evolved and with support of some unwanted elements is arbitrary setting up village within our jurisdiction, inspite of our resistance, to the extend of threatening villagers with dire consequences. He has been using the official NPF writing pad to warn our village’ the Council alleged. The intrusion of AZU Newmai (intruder) will be dealt in a most befitting manner and whosoever is in tune with “Mr. Intruder” shall be doing so at their own cost, the Council further warned.
