Old Jalukie Village cautions against land sale/purchase without consent

Jalukie, April 25 (MExN): Jalukie Pumling Nko, the apex organization of Old Jalukie Village and Old Jalukie Village Council have once again cautioned all involved in selling and purchase of land within their jurisdiction without any consent.

A press release from Jalukie Pumling Nko chairman, Kumui Nring and Old Jalukie Village Council chairman, Hainkieng noted that “some people in the guise of holding land ownership are randomly exploiting the aged old territory of our forefathers to strangers devoid of their right.”

Asserting that the proceedings of such “illegal activities” shall not be tolerated at any cost, the release warned that the party(s) involved in such dealings shall be doing so on their own volition and “the Jalukie Pumling Nko/ Old Jalukie Village Council shall not consider even an inch for the matter in order to safeguard its legitimate rights.”

Meanwhile, the two bodies expressed pain over the “dereliction of responsibilities by the concerned authority that, the dream town (Jalukie) which is fast progressing in every sphere is fragmented into pieces through illegal allotment and encroachment within the land that is meant for government quarters, offices, roads and pavement areas.”

They have called upon all sensible individuals, groups, and concerned department(s) authority to voice out their grievances without any hesitation and fight against injustice to build a vibrant Jalukie township.

It mentioned that the land for Jalukie Town was freely donated out of good will by the Old Jalukie Village and the town is laid with a firm foundation through MOU/agreement. As such, the release added, “pertaining to any land issues no authorities have the right to interfere in the matter unless it is resolved through the consent and understanding of Old Jalukie Village.”

The pioneers during establishment of the Jalukie Town, the release stated, had vibrantly planned the township with intent to be a model town. As such, any development activity that is being carried out in the general interest should be cooperated without any hindrance, it added.
