'Oldest' living person Pupirei Pfükha passes away at 121

Purported to be the state’s oldest living person, 121-year-old Pupirei Pfükha passed away peacefully at her residence in Kigwema village on Wednesday evening at around 7:00 pm.

This was informed by the family sources. The funeral is scheduled to be held in her residence at Kigwema village on March 16.
Pupirei is survived by 18 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Her great granddaughter, Arheno informed that Pfükha lost her eyesight in her eighties, and also lost her hearing ability years back.

Mention may be made that Pupirei was married to Vichapa Pfükha, and had four children – three sons and one daughter. 
It was informed that their eldest son was the first matriculate, first graduate and also the first gazetted officer (in the State Art & Culture Department) of Kigwema village and passed away in 1989. 

Pupirei's husband passed away in 1969. In fact, all her four children predeceased her– three during the 1980s and 1990s and another on August 15, 2020 at the age of 82.
