Morung Express News Mokokchung | August 18 In another boost towards the development of Ao Naga language and literature, the Volume – II of an Ao crossword book titled ‘Olong Waitep: Tebhong – II’ created by well-known Ao writer and former journalist, Aso Imsong was formally released by Dr. Temsuwati (retired Addl Development Commissioner) at Hotel Metsupen here today. The event was attended by officials from the Ao Senden, Ao Senden Literature Board (ASLB), AKM, OKM, friends and well-wishers. Aso Imsong, who is a former journalist attached with Ao Milen and also the co-author of The Breached Walls, was credited to be the first among the Aos to create such a crossword puzzle book few years back when he brought out the first book titled Olong Waitep – I. The Chairman of ASLB, Prof Lanunungsang congratulated Aso Imsong for his ‘history making’ feat and expressed hope that the latter will continue to bring out more such books for the benefit of the Ao literature readers. Speaking at the book release, Aso Imsong dedicated his latest book to his wife, daughter and son and gave all thanks to God for his blessings in successfully bringing out the book. He also dedicated his book towards the development of Ao literature and Ao language. Dr. Temsuwati, after releasing the book, expressed hope that more and more writers in Ao language will come up and also that one day some will earn a PhD in Ao literature. Others who spoke at the programme were Ao Senden general secretary S Temsu Aier, ASLP chairman & retired Pro-VC, NU Prof Lanunungsang. The programme was chaired by senior journalist, Sashimeren Jamir. Pastor of Chuchuyimpang Baptist Church, Rev I Wati Imsong and Associate Pastor of MTBA Sentimeren invoked God’s blessings at the book launch.
