The 'fast unto Death' undertaken by the members of Aggrieved Teachers Association of Nagaland (ATAN) seem genuine on the part of the ATAN to resume the 'Do or Die ' Stand considering the dereliction of the Govt.to implement its own decision. The Aggrieved Teachers has undergone various investigation process namely SIT (Vigilance), High Power Committee headed by Commissioner & Secretary School Education, Special Verification Committee (SVC) headed by Deputy Commissioner of each 11 District and the Departmental Verification Committee (DVC) headed by the then Director School Education wherein, personal interrogation, show cause notice was done twice by the investigation Committees and whereupon, only the SIT (vig) and the DVC could Submit its report to the Govt.
The Commissioner & Secretary SE put up viii (eight) different subject for Approval of the State Cabinet on 18th March 2011 on the same the state Cabinet Approved the proposals of School Education as contained in the Listed 8 Cabinet Memos vide no.CAB-2/2008 (Pt) Dated Kohima the 21st March 2011. Now, on learning that among the 8 listed memos leaving aside the 1st memo i'e the DVC Final Report, the rest has already been implemented. In the light of the above fact, it is pertinent to mention that the State Govt has deliberately ignored the Cry of the Genuine Aggrieved teachers even after a lapse of 13 months of its decision.
While lamenting the insensitivity of the welfare Govt. I salute the various Civil Society of the state for having concern on the issue.as whenever injustice is meted by the state machineries the NGO, Civil Society has to rise up together so that justice be prevail. However, on learning that the State Premier Teachers Association ANSTA who should be playing an important role as facilitator between the Govt and the Aggrieved Teachers are nowhere to be seen, as also the Churches and our Naga national brothers. Considering the membership fees levy from the Teachers by ANSTA and the obedience of the Aggrieved teachers in terms of 10% tithes to the Churches, and the contribution made to the national cause by the Aggrieved teacher. Although I am not a party of the victim on having visited the DEO Office Dimapur and on interacting with the aggrieved members where every aggrieved ATAN members have a different stories to tell about their suffering struggle & survival till date I could no longer control but to silently shed my tear. I therefore call upon every sensible Naga brethren to rise beyond the artificial barrier of ism, Deptt, professions etc. for today the ATAN are on the street but tomorrow you may be next.
