On job training course in Israel: Horticulture department notifies

KOHIMA, JUNE 7 (DIPR): Under the Indo-Israel Programme, the Government of Nagaland proposes to enter into collaboration with the AgroStudies. The International Centre for Agriculture Interns in Israel Ltd, for “On Job Training Course in Israel” (OJT-IS) for B.Sc (Horticulture/Agriculture) Graduates and B. V Sc & AH Graduates. Since the technologies in Israel are more focused for Horticulture and Animal Husbandry the trainees selected will concentrate more in these fields.

The OJT-IS Programme will be implemented under the following terms and conditions: The Programme is for 11 (Eleven) months. Candidates once selected cannot leave the course mid way.

1. Selected candidates will be paid during the OJT, which will be inclusive of the through and fro airfare. Boarding and lodging will be free of charge.

2. All trainees on return are to take up activities (farming) in the field of the trained subject in their respective village/area, and also take up training programs within the State in coordination with the programs of the concerned Department. An undertaking to this effect will be submitted by the candidates and their parents indicating the area of the proposed projects/farm sites.

3. The selected candidates will be assigned field jobs in farms as part of their training course, and should be prepared to take up any manual and physical activities as may be required.

4. The Department of Horticulture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Agriculture as the case may be, will earmark projects and programmes to be taken up by the trainees on return. This will be strictly monitored by the concerned Departments.

5. As the course is to be accredited to a University, the Nagaland University will be implementing agency for this programme. Necessary action for formalizing the course and signing of the MOU will be taken by the University.

6. All selection will be done through open advertisement, which will be scrutinized and short listed by SASARD, for final selection by a Committee, comprising of the concerned Government Departments of Horticulture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Agriculture and SASARD representatives. SASARD shall constitute the Selection Committee and nominate one of the members as chairman.
