Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): One-day seminar on People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) was initiated by Peace Channel for the members of Niuland Town at St Joseph Church, Nuiland, Dimapur, on October 25. The objective of the seminar was to “strengthen the local capacities for peace and enabling the community members to act for peace,” a holistic approach which focuses on colonies, villages and churches.
Fr Mathew John T Parish Priest, St Joseph Church, Niuland welcomed the participants gathered for the workshop. Caroline Leisan, Program Coordinator Peace Channel informed the participants that PFP was a Forum that believes in inclusiveness of every individual in the society so that every individual will be at peace and would learn to love, help and promote peace among others too.
Resource person, Fr Joseph highlighted that ‘peace’ is the “most important value we would like to have as a human being, that peace is the absence of war, conflict and violence.”
Fr Joseph briefed on the four different ways of living at peace such as: good relationship with ourselves, good relationship with others, good relationship with God and with nature.
Fr Joseph concluded his session by saying that “when we have peace within us we become the Lover, the Promoter and the makers of Peace.”
