Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): A member of a business establishment in Dimapur died in an alleged self-inflicted gunshot on March 12. The incident was reported when the manager of Rajesh Gupta, Global Ceramic Pvt Ltd called the police around 9:55 AM to inform them that one of its staff had committed suicide, stated a press release from the PRO Dimapur Police. Subsequently, the telephone duty party, along with the duty officer, rushed to the site located on the ground floor of the Baliram Hariram tower building, it said. The police identified the deceased as Sandeep Kumar Pandey, who was found with a bullet wound on his forehead, and a .32 pistol was found held against his chest. The body was subjected to an inquest, and after completing all legal formalities, it was shifted to District Hospital, Dimapur for post-mortem examination, the release said. A case of unnatural death has been registered at West Police Station under the relevant provisions of the law, and the investigation is ongoing, it added.
