Dimapur Police on Wednesday evening arrested one extortionist from Khushiabil area, near Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
Police identified the individual as one Danial Sumi from S. Hetoi village under Niuland subdivision and a member of NNC/FGN (NA).
According to the Police, the accused recently joined the FGN and had demanded Rs. 30,000 from a carpenter in Khushiabil area. He was subsequently arrested after the Anti Extortion Team Zone I under Dimapur East Police Station was alerted.
Police informed that the individual was already going around extorting money from the stretch between Chumukedima and Purana Bazaar.
