Woman killed in explosion
In an unrelated incident, one woman was killed and two others were injured in an explosion in Chenloisho village, Mon on October 15. As per the Mon police, the explosion occurred around 11:20-11:30 am when a group of women were out on a “social work” clearing jungle near a village school.

The police suspect that the women came into contact with a previously unexploded explosive device, where they were working, which went off. “One succumbed and two were injured but now they are out of danger,” informed a Mon police official.

The police were still to ascertain the make or type of the explosive. “We are examining it and further details can only be given only after further scrutiny of remains (of the explosive) that has been recovered,” said the official, while adding that a case has been registered.
