NAYO, Tuophezou youth demand ‘befitting punishment’ for driver
Kohima, March 22 (MExN): In a delayed report reaching here, one person was killed in an accident at New Secretariat, Kohima on the night of March 15. The deceased identified as Neichatuolie Kense, 41 years, of Tuophema village was reportedly hit by a Ford Figo.
In this connection, the Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) vehemently condemned the incident and has appealed the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the driver of the vehicle at the earliest. The organization will not remain a mute spectator in bringing justice to the victim and his family, NAYO added.
In a separate statement, the Tuophezou youth organizations comprising the Botsa Youth, Tuophema Youth, Razhaphe Youth and Tuophe Phezou Youth also strongly condemned the incident. Revealing that the deceased was the sole bread winner of his family which includes his parents, in-laws and four minor children, the Tuophezou youth organizations stated that his death has devastated the whole family who were dependent on him.
As such, the youth organizations urged the authorities not to show any leniency on the accused. “We are ever ready to do justice to our fallen brethren,” it maintained.
