Peren, February 3 (MExN): 36 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre during an operation launched along with police representative at Peren district’s Khelma village on February 1. The cadre was apprehended with one 9 mm pistol and two 9 mm ball rounds, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. He was identified as Sumlienthanh Sumtinkha (38), Assistant Political Officer (APO) of KTU region. The apprehended person along with the recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to Athibung Police Station, Peren district for further investigation, the release added.
