One NSCN (R) cadre arrested

Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): Three persons, allegedly an NSCN (R) cadre and two sympathizers, were arrested by 9 Assam Rifles during an operation at Pfutsero sub- division on May 2.   According to an AR press note received here, the arrests were made after an operation was launched based on information that an NSCN (R) cadre was “collecting extortion money” from the local shopkeepers in the area.   When the security force reached the area, the individuals tried to flee away in their private car but they were nabbed near Porba Junction, it added.   The AR identified the arrested individuals as Kuzoveyi Kezo (46), VetsoResuh (32) and Sheto (22).   On spot questioning, Kuzoveyi Kezo admitted that he is a Deputy Kilonser of NSCN(R), the AR claimed.

  One 7.65mm pistol with 5 Rounds, one Assam Rifles Pattern uniform, 9 bottles cough syrup and a sum of Rs. 4070 were also recovered from them, it said adding that they were later handed over to Police along with the recovered items.
