Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): An unidentified male, approximately 40 years old, was found dead on the rail track between Rangapahar (RXR) and Dimapur (DMV) on May 25. It is suspected that he was run over by a moving train.
According to a release from the PRO of Dimapur Police, the dead body was discovered by a duty party from GRPS after receiving a written memo from the Station Manager of NF Railway Dimapur at around 3:30 AM, reporting that a person was lying on the track between RXR-DMV at Km 253/2-3.
Upon reaching the location, the GRPS duty party found the lifeless body.
After completing all the necessary legal procedures, the body has been transferred to the morgue at the District Hospital for post-mortem examination and identification, the PRO informed.
As per the police the deceased was wearing a black half-long pant, a black T-shirt, and a coffee-coloured undergarment. Additionally, the deceased has a tattoo on his left arm with the names "Raj Kumar Sharma" and "Onita Devi," the police said.
