MOKOKCHUNG, JANUARY 19 (MExN): National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) organized one day training on oral health for health workers of Ongpangkong block on January 19 at Chief Medical Officer conference hall, Mokokchung.
Dr Kibangkumba, Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung welcomed the participants and encouraged to create awareness among the youngsters on oral health.
Resource person Dr keneitheja IMDH stated that the main objective of the training is to promote oral health, identify and prevent common oral diseases and give first aid in dental emergency. He said that causes of oral disease are sugar consumption, tobacco use, alcohol use and poor hygiene and the common oral disease are tooth decay, gum disease, irregular death and oral cancer.
He added most oral and dental diseases are preventable thus early detection is the key to prevent every oral and dental problem.
