The Ongpangkong Student's Conference (OKM) organised the semi final of Tetsü Oshi Tetoktepba 2018-2021 at Ungma Village on November 14.
The Tetsu Oshi Tetoktepba is a three year long competition focused at promoting and preserving mother tongue organized by the OKM. Competitors were given two pictures and were asked to describe the pictures in the semi final test.
A short formal session was held at Babu Tzubu Amphitheater where Dr L Temjen Jamir, Chairman, Ao Senden Literature Board was the guest of honour. He talked about the importance of mother tongue in the present context and encouraged the young people to work towards promoting and preserving one's own mother tongue.
Short speeches were also given by Imnatongpang Kichu, executive chairman OKM, J Nungsang Longkumer, Member, OKM TOT, Alemtoshi Imsong, Chairman Ungma Village council and N Akok Longkumer, Secretary, SST Platinum Jubilee Committee.
Imlisunep Longkumer, President, Tsurangkong Kaketshir Telongjem also gave a short exhortation.
The semi final of the Tetsü Oshi Tetoktepba was hosted by Soyim Student's Union as a part of the union's platinum jubilee year long celebrations and the event was organized keeping in view the SOP laid down by the government . The final of the Tetsü Oshi Tetoktepba will be held in 2021.
