Kohima, July 4 (MExN): The web portal for online self-nomination for the National Teachers’ Award has been opened, and the School Education Department has requested all District Education Officers, Senior Sub-Divisional Education Officers, and SDEOs to give wide publicity to ensure maximum participation by teachers.
The portal http://nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in will receive nominations until July 15.
According to the State DIPR, the guidelines for the National Teachers’ Awards were revised last year. Accordingly, 10 years of regular service is the eligibility criterion for consideration for the awards and it is applicable to both government and private teachers affiliated with the State Board.
The award aims to celebrate the unique contributions of teachers in the country and honour those educators who, through their commitment and diligence, have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students and strengthened the nation, it added.
