Only motorable road to Mengujuma village severed

The road to Mengujuma village under Sechü Zubza Sub-division completely cut off due to a landslide on August 4.

The only motorable road to Mengujuma village under Sechü Zubza Sub-division has been cut off by heavy landslides on Sunday afternoon following torrential rainfall on Saturday night. 

Tsiu Seyie,  VDB Secretary,  Mengujuma informed that about 1 km stretch of the road slid 500 ft below affecting vegetation and paddy fields.

 
As the affected road is the only lifeline of the village, transportation of essential commodities, medical related services and students were the worst affected. Village functionaries reported that essential commodities have to be transported through an alternative road by foot, which would take about an hour to reach the village from the nearest motorable road.  

Residential students studying outside the village were also reported to have travelled by foot to reach their destination on Sunday evening.
