Only one cut-off date and year of December 1, 1963: DNSU on ILP

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) today made its stand clear that “there must be only one cut-off date and year of December 1, 1963 for enforcement of ILP in the state.”

This was adopted during its 4th unit presidential meeting held at its office on February 14.

The Union also deliberated on the subject matter of ILP (Inner Line Permit) and its implementation in the district of Dimapur.

“The Union is very much disappointed over the separate cut-off date and year for the District of Dimapur i.e. November 21, 1979,” said a press release issued by Media Cell, DNSU.

In this regard, DNSU has appealed to the Government to analyze the pros and cons before implementing any laws which may jeopardize the demography of the State.

It added that the Union was “committed to fight tooth and nail against all odds for the welfare of our generation,” while cautioning that “we will never accept the outer layer sweetened candy which has poison inside.”

Meanwhile, DNSU also appealed the Government to bring up standard procedure and proper mechanism for “effective implementation of ILP in the district at the earliest.”
