The award which Kiphire district received for being Open Defecation Free (ODF) on July 19 in Kohima was presented to the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro at the District Planning & Development Board meeting held today at the DC’s conference hall here. The award was handed over by the Executive Engineer PHED, Er Subongmeren.
The Deputy Commissioner congratulated PHED for its effort and bringing good name to the district. Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the DC also asked the PWD (R&B) to fill the potholes in the town areas within a week as Independence Day is approaching.
With regard to the issue of delinking Class XI & XII from ZPC, he told the members present to be a solver of problem instead of creating problem with no solution. He urged them to think seriously on any issues for the progress of the society. The DC also welcomed the newly posted officers in the district and appealed to work for the welfare of the people in the district.
Khro also read out the work distribution for Independence Day programme and warned the officers to be in station till the celebration is over. Er Subongmeren, while handing over the ODF award to the district administration, offered gratitude to all the stakeholders for extending all possible help in making Kiphire ODF district.
The meeting also welcomed Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Director Supplies, DPRO, DFO territorial and Project Director RD as new members of the board. In the next DPDB meeting, the Forest department and Observatory Home will give presentations.
