The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation acknowledge th Department of Agriculture for giving opportunity to the educated unemployed youths of Nagaland through the Advertisement No. AGR/ER-MP2010/2010-11 Kohima Dated Feb’ 2011 for recruitment to various posts under Extension Reforms Scheme (ATMA) and its subsequent results declared vide advertisement No. AGR/ER-MP-1/2010-11 Dated Kohima March 2011.
The ENSF was highly anticipating that the Department will do justice to one and all and will be tansparent during recruitment. But unfortunately (or intentionally) the Department had deprived our people and fellow Nagas. The Department had declared selected Candidates No.18 under Block Technology Manager, whose name was not even in the Applicant Lists furnished by the Department on 4th March 2011 to ENSF and also under the Post of Accountant-cum-Clerk, SAMETI, only one(1) Post was advertised but surprisingly the result has thirty six(36) selected candidates. The Federation wonders whether the post grew overnight using the latest agricultural technology under ATMA.
The only candidates from Eastern Nagaland for the post of DPD having M. Sc (Bio-informatics) was selected after the interview stating that his qualification is not agri-allied. The candidate concern had enquired prior to registation, and documents verified by the Department. Then why was he not rejected before the interview? And why was he allowed to sit for the interview? Why he was made to wait for the interview if he was to be rejected after interview due to qualification? Is it for time passé? The Federation also wonders whether all the selected candiates are agri-allied qualified.
The ENSF again take note of the General Condition No.5 whereby first preference will be given to local candidates having proficiency in local dialect in all categories. Sadly, since none of our people were selected (25% Job Reservation had vanish in thin air as always) in the posts of DPD and BTM, the selected fellow Naga brothers and sisters may be fluent in our Eastern Nagas’ dialect.
If such discrepancies arehappening in even open advrtisements, our Eastern Nagas have to rethink whether we will continue to be discriminated knowingly or fight for our rights. For how long should we continue to remain subjucated inhumanly in the name of various man-made technical and conditions which are meant especially to deprive us by various Government Agencies?
The ENSF also bring to the notice of the concern and general public that Shri. Ram Sharma was appointed as Driver-cum-mechanic under KVK Kuther, Tuensang since inception. Shri. Sharma had never reported to his posting place till date but is continuing to draw his salary in the name of Tuensang. When the Federation Official enquired about this matter, the Jt. Director, Agri and In-charge of KVK Nagaland bluntly told that he(Sharma) is attached to the Department and if needed, the Department can issue necessary notification on back dated. The Federation summons Mr. Ram Saran Sharma, if he is not fictious, to the ENSF Head Quarter office, Tuensang on 9th of March 2011 at 11:00 AM with all relevant documents. Failing which the Federation may take any course of action for which Mr. Sharma driver, the Jt. Director Agri(KVK) and the Department will be held responsible.
