Mokokchung, September 4 (MExN): The 5th September Melange of Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung hosted a debate competition on the topic ‘Oppositionless Government in Nagaland is Mockery,’ where ten participants spoke for and against the motion.

Speaking for the motion, Asensor Jamir, the leader of the team, said in his concluding remark that the oppositionless government in Nagaland is a failed experiment that should be done away with since it is not working and seems pointless.

He also remarked that the present oppositionless government is more powerful than ever, but there is a lack of progress and change in the state, and the lack of action speaks volumes as to why an oppositionless government is a mockery of democracy.
Tiarenla, leader of the opposition team, said in her concluding remark that an oppositionless government in Nagaland is needed in order to avoid conflict among the diverse tribes, cultures, and traditions.
