Phek, February 19 (DIPR): Government order NO: ELE-SVEEP-GEN/19/2017/251 dated 7th June, 2017 and Rule 39 of Conduct of Election Rules 1961 clearly directs against 'booth capturing and open declaration of support in favour of a particular candidate/political party by a village/ward/khel or community through public announcement and even through publication in electronic/print media which violates the secrecy of vote by electors'.
DC& DEO, Phek, Shanavas. C, IAS, has therefore in an order on February 16 warned of appropriate legal actions against the offenders in the interest of free, fair, transparent election and administering social order against any village or ward or community or group of people or media house found violating or defying the said provisions in connection with the upcoming General Assembly Election to the State of Nagaland.
