Governor congratulates new office bearers of ENPO, LEH
Kohima, June 17 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH).
In a letter addressed to Kekongchim Yimchunger, president ENPO (2018-2020 tenure), the Governor hoped that ENPO will continue to strive for the economic development and social upliftment of the people of ENPO area in particular and people of Nagaland in general.
According to a press release from the Governor’s PRO, Acharya stated that the contribution of any organisation in welfare programmes, development oriented activities, empowering women and weaker sections, protecting the rights of marginalized segments, protecting the environment, spreading literacy and education, etc is impressive.
Organisations play a key role in improving the lives of marginalised and needy even in the remotest areas of the country, he added. The Governor expressed confidence that ENPO will continue its persistent efforts and approach for economic empowerment of the people to make Nagaland a ‘Golden Nagaland’.
Acharya also congratulated Zuchobeni Ezung, president LEH and all the newly elected members of LEH for the tenure 2018-2022. Women organisations, he stated, play a key role in improving the lives of marginalised and needy even in the remotest areas of the country.
Acharya reiterated to both organisations that creating more entrepreneurs in our society was the need of the hour, the release stated. “It reduces the burden on job creation and encourages self-sufficiency with the use of minimal and available resources,” he was quoted as saying.
The Governor added that identifying and ensuring the benefits of Central and State flagship welfare programmes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Samridhi Account, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Mid Day Meal, etc to the targeted beneficiaries was the need of the hour.
