Jalukie, February 6 (MExN): More organizations have condemned the killing of Dichungbe Nriame, Central Administrative Officer (CAO) of Asalu (Zeliangrong) Region, NSCN (IM). Dichungbe was killed by unknown person(s) at his residence in Jalukie Town on February 2.
AZSU AMN: In a statement, All Zeliangrong Students' Union Assam Manipur & Nagaland (AZSU AMN) expressed shock and dismay over the “untimely and merciless killing.” “Late Dichungbe, who hails from Tungje village of Dima Hasao District, Assam was a sincere, dedicated and patriotic national worker, who served the Zeliangrong Region NSCN/GPRN in various capacities,” said the statement from AZSU AMN president, Nchaheing Kompoing. The union further urged upon the investigating agencies to leave no stone unturned to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to book. Meanwhile, it conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
RNPO: RNPO, the apex organisation of the Rongmei people, while condemning the incident has asserted that every right thinking citizen should condemn such a “barbaric act” and the investigating authority should leave no stone unturned to book the culprit at the earliest. A statement from RNPO Media Cell further offered heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
WJC: Meanwhile, the Whole Jalukie Council (WJC) in another statement described Dichungbe as a “prominent leader” among the Zeliangrong people. It stated the incident has created fear psychosis in the minds of the denizens. “The cowardly act of killing human has no place in a civilized society where everyone strife for peace and tranquility and with the general election round the corner,” added the statement from Whole Jalukie Council secretary, Benjamin and president, Namgum Hingleu. The council urged the law enforcing authority to immediately book the accused and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
ZSUN: Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland (ZSUN) condemned the killing and also expressed concern stating “this kind of action is unbecoming of a civilized society.” A statement from ZSUN president, Asappe Zeliang further called upon the authority concerned to deliver justice at the earliest. Meanwhile, it prayed that God gives solace to the bereaved family.
