Organizations condemn NSCN (K)’s violence

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): The Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong, Kohima strongly condemned the physical assault meted out on the village council chairman, GBs and other village elders of Wanching village by NSCN (K) cadres on November 7. The Konyak women organization expressed sadness over the fact that such organization “who call themselves as National workers, meant to protect the dignities of our people turns its hatred towards us without any reason” and added that the victims would be effected their whole lives by the grievous torture. Hitting out at the organization, the KNSK, Kohima stated that this act of the cadres symbolizes the absence of “discipline and respect in the organization”. 

Strongly condemning the barbaric act, the KNSK, Kohima appealed to all the NGOs, women organization, churches, societies, Human Rghts groups and upright citizens to condemn the same. The press release issued by the president and press secretary, N. Ngipmin and Gloria Yenso also demanded immediate action on the culprits without any compromise. 

In a separate press release, the Wanching Students’, Kohima, led by games and sports secretary, Likton Konyak condemned the “objectified act of some heroes of NSCN (K) who impair the status they stand for” Stating that the act has subverted the cultural rights of the citizens as well as the court of Wanching village, the students appealed to the authorites for appropriate action against the errant activists as demanded by the village public.
