Orgs condemn Ghathashi murder

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Adhoc Town Council Ghathashi has condemned the April 13 incident at Ghathashi, where one Kaito of Mukalimi Village “mercilessly murdered” one Kuhovi Swu of Ighanumi and also bit one Vikato of Ghathashi “causing injury on his arm and chest.” A press statement issued by Yeshito Swu, GB and chairman of Adhoc Town Council Ghathashi added, “It is also seen that the deceased (Kuhovi Swu) bore many bite marks on his body beside a serious damage at the back of his head.” Stating that such kind of “barbaric act” is a threat to the peace loving society, the Council urged that the accused be given befitting punishment. The Adhoc Town Council Ghathashi on behalf of its general public further appealed to the law enforcing authority not to bail out the accused under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, Mukalimi Students’ Union (MSU) has also vehemently condemned the incident. The union in a release has urged the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the culprit and appealed the judicial authorities not to grant bail to the accused. The Union also urged the Mukalimi Village Council to take exemplary action against the accused as per customary court of law without any fear or favour so that no such incident may occur in future. Further, the union appealed to the elders as well as public of Ighanumi village that the age old relationship of goodwill and bonhomie between the two villages shall be preserved in spite of barbaric act of the accused. The Union expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed the departed soul rest in peace.
