Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho Dimapur (LHD), Lotha Youth Organization Dimapur (LYOD), Lotha Eloe Ekhung Dimapur (LEED), and Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) while condemning the killing of a woman in Dimapur today, demanded speedy justice to the victim.
Alleging the incident as “pre-mediated murder,” the LHD while demanding thorough investigation and compensation to the victim’s family, said “the accused should not be granted bail under any circumstances.” It further informed that a peaceful rally will be held on October 25 at 9:00 am at Deluxe Point, Nyamo Lotha road.
The Lotha Youth Organization Dimapur (LYOD) while conveying its condolences to the bereaved family urged the law enforcing agency to take stringent action against the culprit.
The Lotha Eloe Ekhung Dimapur (LEED) demanded death penalty against the accused and that the case against him be registered under non-bailable sections. If not, it “demanded that the accused be handed over to them so that it can deal with the Naga customary law.”
The Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union also demanded that no bail be granted to the accused and befitting punishment to the accused as per the law.
The four organisations further asked the legal fraternity, including the Dimapur Bar Association, to desist from representing the accused.
