Oriental College Kohima introduces smart class room

Replaces blackboards with projectors

In a significant development, Oriental College, Kohima has converted blackboard class room into smart class room. The college has already installed projectors in all the degree classrooms. The teaching-learning process becomes easier and more informative through this project.  

Teachers are now attending the class with laptops and no more chalk, said the college principal Dr. Ketshukietuo Dziivichii and expressed happiness over such development during the 21st fresher’s day held here.  

The college accorded warm welcome to 202 students who enrolled this year into Oriental College for pursuing higher studies and degree courses.  

Higher education director Kuholi Chishi graced the occasion as the chief guest and formally inaugurated amenities in respect of Day-Care Centre and Gymnasium funded by University Grant Commission.  

She also launched the college website, developed by Ramitech Solutions, Kohima.  

Later, addressing the students, Chishi encouraged the students to learn as much as they can and realize and achieve their dreams. “Unlearn what is bad and learn what is good,” she insisted.  

Whatever you have learnt you have to realize, she said adding that realization would help achieve their goals.  

Asking the students to achieve to the highest they can, Chishi said “I want all of you to be on the top of the world.”  

Dr. Dziivichii said that to cope up with the fast changing information technology, the college has signed MoU with Sims Lite Company for the college information management.  

Through this software, Dr. Dziivichii said the management of admission and attendance will become easier Also stating that the college will now start preparing for NAAC assessment, he sought the support and contribution from all the stakeholders, students, parents and alumni and at the same time requested to give their best for the upliftment of higher education in the state through this college.  

Later, the college introduced NSS, EU, Drama Club, Sports Club, Rovers & Rangers, Red Ribbon Club, Eco Club and Peace Channel.
