Orientation held for PLVs & Panel Advocates

Wokha, February 20 (MExN): Orientation programme for Para Legal Volunteers and Panel Advocates was held on February 18 at the DC conference hall, Wokha. The programme, chaired by Oren Humtsoe, Panel Lawyer, was attended by Para Legal Volunteers, Panel Advocates, District Administration, Police Administration and NGOs, CWC members, DCPU officials and members from the Observation Home.   A press note said that Nino Iralu, Member Secretary, NSLSA was the resource person in the first session. She dwelled on the seven new schemes of 2015 comprising of schemes of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, legal services for workers in the unorganized sector, child friendly legal services to children and their protection, legal services to the mentally ill and mentally disabled persons, effective implementation of poverty alleviation schemes, protection and enforcement of tribal rights, legal services to the victim of drugs abuse and eradication of drug menace.   WV Patton, Member Secretary, WDLSA & Civil Judge (Jr), Wokha highlighted the activities of WDLSA. Thavaseelan SDO(C), Wokha and Tokavi Achumi, NPS Addl. SP Wokha also spoke during the programme. Lichani, Panel Lawyer, delivered vote of thanks.

  The resources persons, Nino Iralu, Member Secretary NSLSA, Panel Lawyers, Yanbemo Ngullie, R. Limhathung Ezong, Oren Humtsoe, Lichani sensitized the Para Legal Volunteers on various Laws and Acts and the duties and activities of the PLVs in the second session.   During the interaction session, CWC members, Observation Home members, DCPU members and NGOs participated.
