
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): One day orientation training for Project Directors (PDs) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) on People’s Plan Campaign (GPDP) 2022-23 was held on October 14 at RD Conference Hall, Directorate of Rural Development.
Delivering the key note address, commissioner & secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo said that PPC exercise is mainly to facilitate better co-ordination between departments and to avoid duplication of schemes which is of paramount importance in convergence schemes. He also highlighted on the importance of setting up of Village planning and facilitation team/Gram Panchayat Planning facilitation Team (GPPFT) for proper functioning of GPDF. Theluo further requested the PDs and BDOs to tie up with the line departments and to give their best effort for better performance and to help the non-performing blocks.
Director, RD, Liboni Humtsoe in her introductory speech highlighted the timeline of the campaign and mentioned that since GPDP is in its 5th year of implementation. Hence the need to improvise on the plan was stressed and also to efficiently monitor the guidelines within the given time frame.
According to a press release, presentation on People’s Plan Campaign (GPDP) was delivered by RDO, Imlisanen Aier while PowerPoint presentation on Village Poverty Reduction Plan was presented by NSRLM.
The day long orientation training concluded after a detailed deliberation followed by vote of thanks by the chairman, Joint Director, RD, K Neibou Sekhose.
