A one day orientation programme for Jal Shakti fellow and interns under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) support activity 2023-24 was held at SIRD Auditorium, Kohima on July 13.
The programme was chaired by Er Wonjanbeni Odyuo, Executive Engineer, PHED while welcome note was delivered by Er Repangyangba Longkumer, Chief Engineer & HoD, PHED.
Opening remarks and role of Jal Shakti Fellow was presented by Er Thsathrichem Sangtam, Chief Engineer, Sanitation and WSSO, PHED.
A special address was delivered by E Mhonbemo Patton, Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, PHED. Patton in his speech encouraged the Jal Shakti fellow and interns to take up the challenges before them and to make the best use of the resources in fulfilling ‘Har Ghar Jal’ aspiration and goals.
In the technical session, Er Yanger Pongen, Executive Engineer (Technical) PHED gave a power point presentation on the ‘Overview of Jal Jeevan Mission’ while Er Ichirang Zeliang, Executive Engineer, Sanitation & WSSO, PHED also gave a power point presentation on the ‘Overview of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and support activity of JJM.’
This was followed by a power point presentation on ‘Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance (JJM WQMIS)’ by Dr O Chonchibeni Ezung, Hydro-geologist PHED. Highlight on Har Ghar Jal App for JJM & SBM (G) 2.0 mobile App was presented by Ashale Seb, District Coordinator Kohima.
A power point presentation on ‘Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) tools, water conservation, source sustainability, WASH activities’ were presented by Ellies Yanthan and Er Hongkin Chang, NEIDA (WASH partner & ISA of PHED) respectively. The technical session was followed by an open discussion.
