
Kohima, March 23 (MExN): World Forestry Day 2017-cum-prepared speech competition on the theme ‘Our environment, our responsibility’ was organized by Earth Friendly Generation (EFG) NGO for the students of Don Bosco School Chiephobozou Town at EFG conference hall on March 21.
Vizomenuo Merlyn, Assistant Professor, HoD Tenyiedie department, Science College, Jotsoma was the chief guest. She mentioned how the government initiates ways to protect the forest using action word “if you cut one tree, you should plant ten trees”. She challenged the participants not only to speak out the theme but to put it into practice and encouraged the students to take major part in protecting and preserve environment.
The judges for the competition were Medochütuo Kiewhou, General Secretary, Nagaland Law Students’ Federation and Vizosü Kikhi from North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR), Dimapur.
A press release from the Earth Friendly Generation stated that Arkaprobha Biswas of class 10, Kezhalhoubei of class 10 and Zapusienuo Üsou of class 10 were declared first, second and third winners respectively of the speech competition. The winners were awarded cash prize and certificates. The other participants also received participation certificates.2017 at Chiephobozou Town on March 21.
