Kohima, February 28 (DIPR): A farewell meeting for the outgoing Additional Director and HoD Economics & Statistics, P.Y. Ovung was held at the Director Economics Conference Hall Kohima today February 28.
Parliamentary Secretary for Economics & Statistics and IPR, R. Tohanba speaking at the programme said that the state solely depends upon the departments for any planning activities therefore he urged upon the officers of the department to be more devoted and sincere in their assigned duties by inheriting the example set by the retiring officers. R. Tohanba was appreciative of Ovung’s performance in his short association with the offices and expressed happiness over the good health of Ovung who has served the department for 32 years and 10 months.
Secretary Economics & Statistics, Dr. Daniel Longchar IAS said that service to the people does not end when one retires so he encouraged the retiring officers to continue to serve the people. He thanked the officer for the dedication and sincerity in serving the department in various capacities.
The outgoing HoD Economics & Statistics, P.Y. Ovung thanked the officers and staff of the department for their cooperation. He also shared about his past experience in serving the people in various capacities. He further urged upon the officials of the department to contribute their bid while in service.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Deputy Director, I. Chuba Jamir where invocation was offered by Deputy Director, Haisuing Haikam and short speeches were delivered by Joint Director Y. Sacheo Ovung, President, NESSA, Hevio and DSO, Dimapur, Asangla.
