Outreach camps on RCH continue in Phek district

Phek, May 12 (MExN): The outreach campaign on Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) continued in Phek District with another camp held in Tehephu village on May 11. 

During the camp, a total of 86 patients were examined. Out of the total, 5 women were given Ante-Natal Check Up (ANC) and 2 women opted to go for permanent & temporary family planning method.

In addition, more than 26 children were treated for various ailments, informed a press release from the District Media Officer, NHM Phek. 

Citizens from neighbouring villages of K Khuno and Suthotsu have also availed the services at the camp.

Dr Khriezotuo Paphino Chief Medical Officer Phek; Dr Pangertemsu, Obstetrician-Gynecologist, district Hospital Phek; Dr K Pewezo Khalo DPO RCH/UIP; Dr Limatoshi, Epidemiologist; Dr Chikhopalu; Dr Chuvilu; RBSK Nurse,Nurses from Sub-Centres of Tehephu,Suthostu and K Khuno & various categories of staff  from CMO office Phek were part of District Team conducting the camp. 

As per the release, the RCH camps are carried out annually with the objective to reduce total fertility rate, infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate in the district.

During the camp, Interpersonal Education & Communication (IEC) activities were also carried out with the pregnant women and eligible mothers on family planning, maternal and child health issues, it said. 

The IEC materials on different health issue printed in local languages were handed out.
