Wokha, July 2 (MExN): Army Recruitment Office (ARO), Rangapahar conducted an extensive outreach programme in Wokha district of Nagaland to enhance recruitment in the Indian Army in various categories including Officers, Women Military Police and Agniveer. 

The programme was held in coordination with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay School and a Combined Annual Training Camp of NCC being conducted by the 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC on July 2. The outreach programme was attended by over 400 Cadets and 75 eligible students including 50 girls.

The PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh in a press release stated that the session covered the importance and nuances of the Agnipath Scheme of recruitment, login procedures, creating a ID for registration, recruitment notification for the year 2025-26, its advantages, opportunities post four years and clarifications of queries.  

Modalities of Officer entry schemes include National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Military Nursing Services (MNS), Women Military Police (WMP) and Territorial Army (TA) along with Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews were elaborated upon.

The aspirants were briefed about the eligibility criteria, application procedures, and selection processes for each scheme specifically about recruitment notification for the year 2025-2026. They were also explained about the organisation of the Army and types of Arms and Services.  Handouts, posters, pamphlets and other publicity materials were also distributed.   

The Director Recruiting also interacted with Dr Bijay Kumar Gupta, Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay School and Lt Col Prachetan Gahatraj, Officer Commanding, 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC, briefed them in detail regarding the various entries in Indian Army including the changes in the recruitment notification for the yr 2025-26.
