Over 616 Special trains reach NFR areas

Maligaon, June 16 (MExN):  More than 616  Shramik Special trains reached NFR areas including Bihar, West Bengal and NE states, a press release from Subhanan Chanda CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway stated on June 16.


About 50 Shramik Special trains arrived in various locations of Assam, 23 in Manipur, 15 in Tripura, 5 in Mizoram, 6 in Nagaland with stranded people from NE states including Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland and Assam under NFR, the release added.


All the passengers arriving by the Shramik special trains were received by respective civil administration of the states at Railway station after following all necessary COVID-19 protocols. 


Moreover, 29 Shramik Special trains have also originated from various states under the jurisdiction of NFR with stranded people from these states to their native places like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.


The release further added that Indian Railways has assured that it will provide additional Shramik Special trains for any requirement given in future. In his letter to the States, Chairman Railway Board wrote that “Indian Railways will provide the desired number of Shramik Special trains immediately within 24 hours of the request,” the CPRO informed.
