Lions Club of Dimapur, in collaboration with the District Forest Office, Dimapur Division, has initiated the Lions International Environment Week, observed from April 18 to 26.
Lions International Environment Week underway
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The Lions Club of Dimapur, in collaboration with the District Forest Office, Dimapur Division, has initiated the Lions International Environment Week, being observed from April 18 to 26.
As part of the week-long initiative, multiple sapling distribution drives have been carried out across different locations. On Day 1, over 400 saplings were distributed outside St Mary’s School. On Day 2, around 300 saplings were given away outside Konyak Baptist Church, Nepali Basti. Day 3 saw nearly 100 saplings distributed at Old Showuba Junction, Niuland, while on Day 4, approximately 100 saplings were distributed at Lions Centre and near SD Jain Girls College.
Continuing the initiative, a tree plantation drive was organised on April 22 at Livingstone Foundation International School.
The event was held in the presence of Lions Club President Lion Sanjay Jaiswal; Beizo Suokhrie, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Dimapur Forest Division; and Kasho H Kinimi, Deputy Ranger, Dimapur Range. The occasion was also graced by Dr Andrew Ahoto, Chairman of Livingstone Foundation International School.
Lions Club of Dimapur Secretary Lion Sumit Jain and GST Coordinator Neeta Agarwal represented the club. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Lion Rohit Jain.
