Over Rs 8 crore spent for Nagaland Quarantine Centres

Nagaland State Spokesperson for COVID- 19 Mmhonlumo Kikon today said the state government has incurred an amount of Rs 8,68,63,146 as on June 12 for quarantine centres for all districts of Nagaland.


Addressing a press conference here today, Kikon informed that the state government has spent the mentioned amount as expenditure for management of the quarantine centres and feeding of returnees in the quarantine centres across the state.


He said the state government through its District Task Force hires caterers to cater food in all the quarantine centers and any issues relating to the quality of food must be addressed by the District Task Force.


Further, Kikon said that the state government has hired 32 buses to transport the stranded citizens from 13 different states to Nagaland. Expenditure incurred till date for such buses and also for 9 special trains hired by the state government stands at Rs 1.65 crore (approximately), he said.


Meanwhile, sources at the COVID-19 War Room, Nagaland, stated that there are 8,053 persons currently under facility of quarantine in Nagaland.


There are 195 quarantine facilities across the state with a total of 14, 552 beds.


Till date, 3, 729 people were discharged from quarantine facility.
