Considering the number of positive cases being detected outside the quarantine centres during the first phase of total lockdown in Kohima, Nagaland’s Housing & Mechanical Minister Tongpang Ozukum who is also Minister Incharge of Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 today expressed happiness and satisfaction that Kohima District Task Force (KDTF) took a timely decision of imposing total lockdown from July 25 till July 31 last.
Talking to The Morung Express, Ozukum said that “No one can stop the virus from infecting a person but at least by imposing lockdown, we can slow down the pace of spread and also the possible danger of spreading from one person to another and from place to the other.”
We understand the difficulties and inconveniences being faced by the public, but we are compelled to initiate this step for everyone's concern, he said while referring to second phase of total lockdown from August 1 to 7.
“So as we enter the 2nd phase of total lockdown, we continue appeal to the people for their continued support and cooperation,” the Minister added.
