Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) today said that it has decided to call a 12-hour bandh in Dimapur from 5AM-7PM on December 7.
It was decided during an emergency meeting held on December 1 at Naga Council office to discuss the issue of the Riven Honda show room shooting case.
According to a press release from PAC-NCD, the committee had “on good faith” called off the proposed bandh on November 30 assuming the arrest of some suspects “would lead to arrest of the actual culprits.” However, the PAC said that the culprits remain at large. “Arrest of some suspects alone will not deter PAC to call for bandh, the PAC therefore, have extended five days to the authority to arrest the actual culprits,” the release said. In case of failure, it will go head with the bandh.
The PAC has also convene a meeting with the Tribal hohos, Naga councillors, DCCI, BAN, DUCCF,GBs and Naga Women Hoho Dimapur December 4 at 3.00pm at Naga Council office to deliberate on the bandh. The PAC, in the release from its Convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and Co-Convenor K Ghokheto Chophy, also expressed appreciation on the timely arrest of the culprits involved in the “kidnapping of some businessmen of Dimapur.” It identified them as Brownson Tangkhul and Sunikiu Tikhir, allegedly NSCN (I-M) cadres.
The PAC also vehemently condemned the kidnapping of the manager of KK transport agency and attempted to kidnap another staff by allegedly by the NSCN (I-M) December 1.
