DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) under the aegis of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) held a meeting with the tribal hohos, frontal organizations and non-Naga communities including the Assamese, Kachari, Mech, Garo, Gorkha, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Muslims, Bhutanese and Keralites of Dimapur at NCD office on Saturday.
At the meeting, the house deliberated on the menace of illegal collection of money by NPGs, state government departments, unions and welfare organizations.
According to a press statement issued by PAC media cell, the house unanimously decided to stand together to fight against the menace and also resolved to seek the support of the administration and state government for ways and means to do away this system to lighten the burden of the public.
The meeting also resolved to urge the Nagaland Government to impress upon the Government of India to hasten the peace talk and come to an early solution while alleging that the ceasefire have become a license to NPGs for illegal collection.
The PAC also demanded the state government to pass and enact stringent laws and acts to convict criminals. It lamented that criminals and law breakers are immediately released in spite of being apprehended which demoralizes the executive forces from performing their duty.
The PAC also reiterated that the committee will not shy away from fighting this menace with the support of all tribal hohos, frontal organisations and mass based civil societies.
