DIMAPUR, JUNE 14 (MExN): Clarifying its stand in relation to news item on the Adhoc Town Committee, East Dimapur, and its claim that Padam Pukhri falls under their jurisdiction, the PVC stated that it had resolved to oppose the said committee for several valid reasons. It also added that in continuation, several resolutions to this effect were adopted by the public including the February 24 and May 5, 2007 resolutions, reiterating the earlier stand of the village.
The Village Council also refuted allegations of Kakuho that the case was filed in the High Court solely by Chairman by saying that it was filed by the Village Council and not by any individual. Moreover it was not file without the consent of the public as alleged, but the house had endorsed this matter to the Council to pursue it in the interest of the village, subsequently series of complaints and representations were submitted to the district administration.
Therefore, the Council stated that the question of “Without Consent” did not arise at any point of time as the move was necessitated to safeguard the interest and rights of the people at the same time upholding the desire and consensus decision of the people.
