DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): While appreciating the state government for approving the demand of scale pay of the aggrieved teachers of the All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers Group (ANATG) 2015 batch, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has voiced out its concern on the plight of teachers under various categories in the state and has asked the government to be sincere in their given assurances and implement them fully in letter and spirit.
“Teachers in Nagaland, under different categories are often compelled by circumstances to vent out their grievances by resorting to democratic mode of agitations in order to let their voices be heard by the authorities as they have no other ways and means…yet it is painful to see the suffering and despair of our many teachers here in our state due to various anomalies and irregularities,” Media Cell CNTC said in a statement on Thursday.
The CNTC has appealed to the government also to regularize the appointments of the ANATG 2015 batch at the earliest as they have now cleared their suitability tests and only waiting for the Cabinet approval now. It has expressed its full solidarity to the aggrieved teachers.
The CNTC has also expressed its shock on the memorandum to deduct the salaries of the RMSA teachers of 2016 batch or to face termination from their services.
Stating that teachers, whose salaries are so irregularly paid and delayed, are being faced with great hardships and burdened with prices of all essential commodities rising and living conditions becoming dearer by the day, the CNTC has appealed the government to seriously consider the demand of the members of this noble profession considering the cries, difficulties and despair faced by them.
